Position Title: Distribution Supervisor Location: Geismar, LA Monday - Friday 12:30 pm to 9 pm The Distribution Supervisor is responsible for all phases of distribution including daily truck routing (inter-company shuttles, trailer and bulk deliveries), monitoring delivery vehicle maintenance, recordkeeping, and driver safety oversight. The Distribution Supervisor is responsible for maximizing delivery service in a safe and efficient manner. Supervises drivers and coordinates special requirements with Plant Manager and shift leads. In particular, you will: Directly supervise drivers, providing leadership, regarding safe work habits. Manage availability of drivers and equipment, including all vehicle maintenance requirements, to ensure that adequate resources are available to meet distribution/customer needs. Control distribution costs and maximize service response through balancing of daily routes and overall system optimization. Drive continuous improvement in daily distribution operations. Champion distribution efficiency initiatives for the location, including demand leveling. Review and process daily all Department of Transportation (DOT) documentation; vehicle condition reports and drivers' hours of service, route efficiency and completion. Review incoming orders for accuracy and unusual requirements. Communicate unusual requirements for production planning. Review returned trips for paperwork accuracy and completeness, and unfulfilled orders. Review open orders for status and closure. Prepare load sheets, delivery tickets and manifests and highlights any critical customer requirements. Ensure loads are accurate and complete. ________________________ Are you a MATCH? College degree in supply chain management, logistics management or related field preferred. Minimum 2 years of demonstrated leadership experience in a distribution environment. Knowledge of truck routing and shipping of hazardous materials. Knowledge of DOT regulations and FDA requirements. Working knowledge of SAP and Google Applications Self-starter, self-motivated, independent, well-organized with attention to detail. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to deal effectively with others in both favorable and unfavorable situations regardless of status or position. Accepts cultural diversity and establishes effective working relationships. Strong analytical skills; competency for understanding metrics and ability to present and communicate to all levels of the organization and external customers. Leadership skills; Identifies requirements; allocates, and effectively uses information, personnel, time, and other resources necessary for goal accomplishment; establishes appropriate courses of action for self and/or others to accomplish specific goals; develops evaluation criteria and tracking systems for monitoring goal progress and accomplishment; and specifies objectives, schedules, and priorities.
